    Text file from vcard

    Hi Everyone,

I am not sure if excel is the best way to fix this, but I have someone who sent me a txt file of their address book (I think it is in vcard format which I am not that familiar with). I need to get it into excel so that I can use it, but when I open it it has all of the name address etc in column 1 and all the data in column 2. I have tried to resaving it as a csv and then trying to put it back into outlook so that I can export it to excel to no avail. Is there an easy way to handle this in excel?

    Thanks!

Making assumption about the text file:

In a fresh workbook, go to Data on the menu and choose Data > Get External Data > Import Text File.

While importing, you will be presented with "Text-to-Columns" dialog. Try choosing Delimted option and use Comma as the delimiter.

If this doesn't work, post a sample of the text file.

I can open it in excel that is not the problem it is the format. I have attached a sample.
Basically it has in column 1 all the prefixes name address etc. and in column 2 all the data. I need it to have name address across the top with the information in the columns.
