I am trying to find a way to auto populate a map of the US states with values i obtain from a pivot table i create from my data. The table provides me a list of all the orders for a quarter broken down to show how many were received per state. I need then to put that number into a text box on a separate sheet which is on top of a map that was inserted.
I figure i can set up a simple function to have the text box value equal a certain cell that i associate with that state, but i cannot figure out how to pull data from the pivot table into the cell for it's equivalent state. I thought an If...Then statement might work, but i do not know how to get it to compare the state abbreviation to the pivot table to find the equivalent.
Note: the numbers are entered per state at the moment, but i had to spend about 45 minutes doing that by hand, so i really need to find a way to make it quicker.
Any suggestions?
