    vertical formatting/pagination across computers

I'm having vertical formatting problems across different computers. The same spreadsheet (via a network drive) is opened on different computers one at a time and printed to the same printer, but the pagination is slightly different across different computers. For example, on one computer the first page ends on row 43, but on the other computer it ends on row 44. The operating system, etc. is all the same (Windows XP Pro 2002 SP3, MS Office Pro 2003, MS Excel 2003 SP3). From what I've been able to see, all settings (Tools > Options, Tools > Customize, File > Page Setup (all tabs), and all tabs and options in printer Properties) are identical across the computers. Any ideas?

Note that I wouldn't ask if we didn't really need the vertical formatting to be identical across computers for certian applications.

    Thanks very much,
    Gary

Each computer has no views listed in the View > Custom Views list in Excel (I assume this is the Views you were talking about).

    Thanks,

    Re: vertical formatting/pagination across computers

JUST A BIT MORE INFO: Let's say I print out the first page of the spreadsheet via one computer and print out the same page via a different computer. And let's say the first printed line is a document heading. Then I take the two sheets of paper together and hold them up to the light so that I can see the second sheet through the first. Then I match up the heading on the two sheets to synchronize them up (to handle any minute differences between the two printouts due to paper alignment). Now, when I look at the two sheets against the light, I see that they are not a perfect match vertically. In fact, each subsequent printed line is just a little bit more off than the previous line, so that by the time I get down to line 42, they are off a whole row height.

Even though the spreadsheet opened in the two computers show the same row height of 15 (15 what?), it's as if the underlying physical measurement in the two computers is never exactly 15, but is instead a fraction more or less than 15. If this is the case, then I'm assuming there is a way to adjust this "physical measurement" or whatever it is.

    Thanks,
    Gary

Not to ignore the magnificent complexity, why not just set a hard page break at a position that gives consistent results?
