Removing Similar Data in Different Column

Hi Everyone,

Im an excel noob. I have been given a task to delete a data in column B if it exist in Column A. This seems simple if you only have 20 records to check. But i have 65536 records imagine how long will it take me to complete?

Your input is very much appreciated.

There is more than one way to go about this, but here is one.

Using column_C as a helper, you can count if the values in column-B are listed in Column-A and then either use AutoFilter and Advanced Filter to get the unique values in column-B. I would opt for Advanced Filter using the option to copy to a new location. Once you are satisified you can delete column-B.

Try this first on a copy of the workbook.

Attached is an example of of the above (but without the filters).

To mark your thread solved do the following:
- Go to the first post
- Click edit
- Click Advance
- Just below the word "Title:" you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
- Change to Solve
- Click Save

To add to a reputation click the Scales icon in the top part of the post in which someone responded.
