Inputing data values automatically based on data value in another column.

My first post here was wonderfully and promptly solved, thank you! Here is my new "challenge". I am going to describe exactly what I am using the Excel spreadsheet for so that I can be most clear.

Henceforth, for clarity, participant will refer to someone involved in the pool (like me), and player will refer to a golfer (like Tiger Woods).

I am tracking multiple statistics in a fantasy golf pool, much like fantasy football. Among them, the pool tracks a participant's earnings from his players across multiple tournaments. Participants are allowed to pick new players for each tourney. I therefore have multiple worksheets: one for each tourney (USOpen, etc.), which are filled as each participant selects his players; and some which either record a participant's overall performance or the player's. There is also a master players worksheet (function described below). I want to simplify and automate the process as much as possible.

What I desire is that when a participant relates his player selections to me, I input those selections into a "bracket" and Excel automatically updates each player's performance based on the players' names entered. I have already constructed a master player sheet (MasterPlayers). This is a list of most of the players a participant would select (I am comfortable inputting individual entries for 'rare' selections). Each week I use this to enter a player's totals (+/- par for each round, final score, earnings).

Let's say I'm looking forward to next year's US Open. When a participant (we'll use GB) selects a player (say Tiger), I want to enter into USOpen!A6 (which is the appropriate cell for participant 'GB' in my workbook) thus: =MasterPlayers!B29 (the cell that refers to Tiger's name in MasterPlayers). I therefore also want the performance (from MasterPlayers!H29-Tiger's earnings) to enter into that participant's bracket in another column (USOpen!D6 for GB).

I am looking for the simplest, most elegant solution to this problem. Remember that a particpant can select new players each week. Therefore I don't want cell USOpen!D6 (GB's earning's column for USO) to be automatically Tiger's, but rather whatever player is entered into USOpen!A6 (the player selected). To whomever reads through this entire post and replies, God bless you!

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.
