Numbering of Rows

Hello.

I think there is a way of changing the start of the grey column, along the left hand side of the excel screen, so that the number 1 starts where I want it to (in this case, on the 3rd row). I have headings on the first 2 rows, but I want the grey numbering column to start with number 1 on the 3rd row. Can anybody tell me how to do this?

I'm fairly confident you can't do this, but am often proved wrong. What you could do is hide the row and column headings*, then create your own row numbers in column A - then you can follow any kind of numbering scheme.
