    Calculating formula

    Hello all,
    I have a more mathematical issue than anything else and need to know how to write it.

    I have column A that averages out percentages and and column B that has a number in it. now the average in column A can be positive or negative and i need to know how to calculate column C that shows what number will be
    IE
    A B c
    -20% 680 should show column b amount (-)20%. or (+)20%

    Can this be done?

    Re: Calculating formula

    Hi

    you need to multiply your pecertage value with the number, then add the result to the number. If the percentage is negative, the result of the multiplication will also be negative and the addition will in effect be a subtraction.

    =B2+(B2*A2)

    =100+(100*20%) -> = 100+(20) = 120

    =100+(100*-20%) -> = 100+(-20) = 80
