Exclamation Formatting a series of cells to update data daily

I am an intermediate Excel 2003 user at best. I am working with a status sheet for equipment I maintain. There is a function "=NOW()" that we currently use to automatically change the date each day we open and save the sheet. In the same way, I need to acheive a similar setup for data I am entering. Each day, the status of my equipment changes, and this data is input to a cell with the current date. I have a cell established for every day of the year. Can I setup anything up that will automatically input the current status into the corresponding cell for each day? Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.

I think you're looking for an automatic time stamp when data is entered. If so, see http://www.mcgimpsey.com/excel/timestamp.html.

Thank you for your input. I reviewed the sight and I dont think this is what I need. I will try a better explanation. I open the file once a day and update the status of my equipment; either 'in or out' of service on my daily status sheet. I then derive a % of available equipment based on this and enter this percent into the daily log sheet of the file; which then updates a monthly and yearly log, etc. What I want to accomplish is for each day that I open up the status sheet and update the % availability on the status sheet, I want that calculated percentage to automatically be entered onto the daily log sheet under the corresponding date. In otherwords, say today I have 100% and I enter this into my status sheet, I want that value to appear under the cell 9/23/09. Tomorrow, I have 96%, I want it to appear in the cell under 9/24/09, etc. Is this possible??

I'm sure it's possible. How about posting a workbook and explaining in context?
