    Unhappy Cell name not consistent

    Hi,

I want to put the content of a cell of the sheet 1 in another cell of the sheet 2. I want that the contents of this last cell (sheet 2) continue to contain the value of the cell of the sheet 1, even if I move this number somewhere else in the sheet 1.

I named each of the quantities of the sheet 1 and I use the name of the number wanted in the sheet 2. That works well if I make a copy/paste of the number in sheet 1, but not if I sort out the data of the sheet 1 on the quantities. Then, the number in the cell of the second sheet changes.

It looks like there is a bug in Excel 2007. If I sort out the data of the sheet 1, the names of the numerical values change according to their new position.

    Re: Cell name not consistent

Instead of naming the cells, use a Vlookup formula, maybe?

    eg

    =VLOOKUP("mardi",Feuil1!$A$1:$B$8,2,FALSE)

you can replace "mardi" with a cell reference containing the word... then even if you sort sheet1, the result remains the same in Sheet2.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Re: Cell name not consistent

But that is not the word Mardi that I am looking for but the number associated to it. And this number may change each weak. I do not want to make a new sheet each week.

Note that the file I sent is just an example of what I want. If I had just a few data to write, I would write it again each week. But the real sheet is much longer.

The Vlookup returns the number in the column next to where "mardi" is found.

I am not used to make a wink and to tell "yeah!" when things go wrong.

    Yes, it works.

    Thanks!
