I'm having a bit of an issue with Excel. At my office, I need to take a large amount of raw data and put it into a certain format. I'm very new to macros, but I went ahead and wrote two macros that should fix most of my problems.
However, now I find that I have a strange new problem.
When I open a new Excel workbook, it leaves the raw data exactly as I paste it --- which is exactly what I want it to do, since I have to run the macro to format it properly. For some reason, though, once I created the macro, every time I paste the raw data into the workbook now, it automatically does "Text to Columns" with tab/space delimiters without even asking me.
The end result is that I can't run my macros because Excel puts the data in a format I can't work with. Why is Excel automatically doing this? Is there a way to make it stop?
I want the data to be in completely raw format, like this:
