Question Changing Worksheet Template Across All Worksheets?

    Hi,

I'm trying to setup a spreadsheet with multiple worksheets.
I'm not sure of all the fields I want in each worksheet.

Can I setup a worksheet to reference other worksheet fields?
In other words, if I create a field in worksheet #1 called Date, I want worksheet #2 to reflect this new field automatically and have it now display a field called Date.

Is it possible to have a "variable" template from worksheet to worksheet where 1 change in 1 worksheet is now reflected to all worksheets?

I'm using Excel 2007 but have access to 2003 on another computer....whichever would be easier.

    Thanks for any help,
    Guy

    Like
    A1=Sheet2!A1
    ??

If you select more than one worksheet at a time (Ctrl+click tabs) any edits you make are made in all worksheets

I'm not sure that will work as that solution assumes that I always know the cell location of the value I want across all sheets.

    Let's say I make a template for sheet 1 for a property I own.

    House 1
    Utility - elec
    utility - phone
    expense - propane
    expense - snowplow
    etc.
    etc.
    etc.

Then I copy this sheet for the 5 properties I have. Then I start populating the fields for my expenses and utilities for all 5 houses. Then I realize I forgot to put "expense - landscaping" in the template. I want to insert a new line on the worksheet for 'expense - landscaping' and have this new line appear in ALL of the other worksheets, in the same spot I added it in the first worksheet.

So basically...a template that will auto-update across all sheets, on the fly.

    Possible in Excel??
    Thanks!

Yeah, try this (starting in A1):
    =INDEX(Sheet2!$1:$65536,ROWS($1:1),COLUMNS($A:A))

If you're only replicating column A, can be simplified to
    =INDEX(Sheet2!A:A,ROWS($1:1))

    HTH
