Unhappy Calculating ages from date of birth and specific date

I work with schools and use excel for student assessments. Students are assessed on a specific date, we then have to work out the age of the student on that date. A combination of the date and their raw score then provides the students standardised score. How do I work out the age of the student?

Re: Calculating ages from date of birth and specific date

    =DATEDIF(A1,B1,"Y") gives number of years

=DATEDIF(A1,B1,"YM") gives number of months under a year...

=DATEDIF(A1,B1,"MD") gives number of days under a month...

You can combine the three by concatenating them with "years", "months", "days" strings to form a complete string defining the age.
