    convert month in to year nad day into month

    hi all
    I searched the forumn but I can't get answer of my question so that’s why I m starting new thread , I have a problem in divide of month E.g a cell has sum of 5-6 (A1:A6) cell of month example 45 I wanted to convert into year 3.9 when I used =INT(D20/12) does not get correct answer same problem with =D20/12 function. AND i also wanted to convert a day cell which has sum of day eg 96 days so anwer should be 3 months and something.
    i hope our learned and knowledeble frend will surely help me out from this small problem.

    if anyone don’t understand my question pls asked me, sorry for bad english thanks

    might be easier if you post a sample workbook outlining your data and desired results.

    Perhaps you mean:

    =DOLLARFR(45/12,12) --> 3.09

    Sorry, I should have added that DOLLARFR is a function that forms part of the Analysis ToolPak - pre XL2007 this needs to be activated via Tools -> Addins.

    ATP

    D14: =DOLLARFR(D13/12,12)
    E14: =DOLLARFR(E13/30,30)

    Non ATP alternatives would be for ex.

    D14: =INT(D13/12)+(.12*MOD(D13/12,1))
    E14: =INT(E13/30)+(.30*MOD(E13/30,1))

    You shouldn't really display 2.06 as 2.6 else 2.11 would for ex. be < 2.6 which is not the case in reality (ie 2 years 11 months > 2 years 6 months)
