    2 way Text Look up

I have a name in one column and the data in another. I am trying to match the name and the category and turn the column data into a row data.

I have attached a sample of two sets of data since my explanation here may be lacking. Orriginal data is in columns A and B. Basically I think I need a double text lookup (matching the name and category) and put the data in a row format. Any help is very appreciated.

    Thanks all,

    Max

    See attached...

Merged columns removed and replaced with same header in order to assist to finding matches...

    Then formula in I11:

    copied across and down.

Formula in K11 is then replaced with:

    and copied down

Formula in L11 is replaced with:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
    and copied down.

These are to allow for possibility of Address label being 1, 2 or 3 rows large...

Re: 2 way Text Look up addendum

    First thanks for the assistance.

It works except some have 2 lines for the address some have only one. I know the formulas should take care of that but the ones with only one address line put the address in the wrong column (usually one early). Any ideas how I can fix it?? I hope my explanation makes sense.

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
