    Thumbs up use of Lebel in excel

    Hi dears,

    Some body asked me that do u know how to use lebel or mailing lebel in excel..i never used it..so i was surprised that what is it. he told me i.e there are 100 names with addresses than how you wil work in lebel..

    Can some body tell me how we can use lebel or mailing lebel in excel for a name list with adress or something..and what is this..cuz i dont know about it..

    Hi,

    Excel does not have an in-built function to create mailing labels from address lists. But chances are that if you have Excel, you also have Word. You can use the Word Mail Merge to create labels with address lists in an Excel file.

    Use the Mail Merge wizard, which will take you through it step by step.

    But i m totally unaware of it..and also new in excel..can you make an example excel work book for me so that i can follow it..

    Pls tell me use of label in excel only that how and when it is usefull..thanks

    I tried in MS word and got it..but one problem..

    I have 2 column in excel sheet..name and Adress
    When i megre label in m.s word int gives me only the actual name and address..

    I want in label the text ..(Name) and (Address) before actual name and actual adress.. means name and address should also be there..

    Pls tell me how to do it..

    Hi,

    in Word, when you create your label with the mail merge fields, the mail merge fields look something like

    <name>
    <address>

    You can simply add text before or after the label. Just click where you want your text to be and start typing, so it looks like this:

    Name: <name>
    Address: <address>

    You are right..it works..but it is very difficulat to write with 500 label of different people..is there not a default way so that i add it in source file or only one time so that it could appear every where..
