    Inputted text automatically updates on neighboring worksheets

    Does anybody know why when I input or delete text/figures on sheet 2, the same thing happens on sheet 1 (the main sheet)?

    Or if I do something on sheet 3, it happens on sheets 1 and 2.

    So, I write something on sheet 1, go to sheet 2 and do something else, and then when I return to sheet 1 the same cells that I performed some action in sheet 2 have been changed in exactly the same way. To put it mildly it's infuriating.

    Does anyone know why this happens, and how I can fix it?

    Thanks a lot! Phil

    There are 3 main possibilities that come to mind;
    1. Formulas, not likely based on what you said; eg. a formula on Sheet2 which says =Sheet1!A1

    2. Macros, more likely. If this is happening on a specific spreadsheet, check for code using ALT F11 to see if there is background code in the worksheet or workbook that is copying data back and forth.

    3. Grouped worksheets, also likely. Right click on the tab of one of the worksheets that's causing you trouble and see if "Ungroup Sheets" is available. If so, click on it.

    Any of these help?
