    Apply Names

    Hi

I setup the attached 2007 workbook (example) without initially naming cells. After setting up my formulas, I went back and named the cells. Now I want to replace the cell references with the cell names.

I refer to the sheet PROJECTION STATS (CALC), when I choose a cell and select "Apply Names..." it tells me it can't find any references.

I've tripled checked that the ignore absolute/relative reference boxes are unchecked. I've also tried selecting only the references I know are in the formula, and selecting all the references.

It appears to work if the named cell is on the same sheet, but not if it is on other sheets (ignore PROJECTED $s/FTE sheet, these formulas were constructed after naming the cells). However, in name manager, the scope of all my cell names are "workbook".

There is an old post from 2006 on here of someone with the same problem, but no one was able to assist with a solution.

Can anyone help? Does "apply names" only work for cells on the same sheet?

    Thanks
    Steve

Bad news, I now have a lot of manual work to do... but thanks for clarifying!
