    Word Substitution

    Hi,

I have a list of abbreviated words in product descriptions (about 6,000 items), need to replace with proper words. I am now doing this with Edit, Find, Replace and I check the list manually with my eyes in order to avoid replacing wrong words. It is very, very time consuming (I've already spent 2 days on this job).

Just wonder if there is any way to do this faster and more accurate.

    Thank you.

    Hi

Yes but with qualifications. It depends whether the abbreviations could form a part of another word in which case you would need a rule to differentiate. If you would like to post an example I will look at it and give you some code to automate the process.

    Regards

    Jeff

See attached. Drag the formula in col B down.

I removed the leading and trailing spaces in cols C and D, and replaced the virgules in col A with " / "

    Hi Shg,

I do the same thing you told me, but I got #NAME? It shows that there is unrecognized text in the formula.

Please help me again. Thank you.
