Control Error

Hey Guys,

I recently downloaded the Microsoft compatibility package for office programs. As claimed by Microsoft it should let me edit and change word and excel files created in newer version in the older version.

After downloading this application I tried opening one of my excel files which has macros and it gave the following error message:

Can't exit design mode because Control '<Control Type>' can not be
created.

Can someone help how I can overcome this issue.

Hi,

compatibility from what version to what version? Microsoft mentions this error in a Word related article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/212559/en-us

The original file is created in Office 2007 and I am opening the file in Office 2003 and Office 2000. (Opening a .xltm template file in older version using the compatibility package which is provided)

I read the article you provided before but couldn't figure out the solution.
Any help is really appreciated.
