    Keep date format

Each month i recieve a long list of data.
In worksheet 'Export Worksheet' A1 i have a dates:
    export worksheet A1
    2009-11-27
    2009-11-24
    2009-11-24 and so on

In worksheet 'Data' coloumn A I only want to show the month "11"
    Therefor I use: =MID('Export Worksheet'!A1;6;2)

The problem is that the dates 2009-11-2X comes in format YYYY-MM-DD and when i run the formula i recieve: ,4 (not 11).

I have tried to change format in both worksheet.

Are there any ways with a formula to transfer 11 in date format to 11 in text format??

    Hope this makes sense...

    Re: Keep date format

You can use MONTH(A1) and then you'll get 11 no matter what kind of date format you enter
