    Break cell content into new line where "µ" exists

    Hi,

    i want to break content of my cells in excel into lines. Normally it is done with [ALT] + [ENTER]. How can i use find and replace(or other method) to break contents of all cells where "µ" exist. I MS word that is pretty easy but i dont know how to do that in excel!
    Can any one please help!

    Hi,

    You can hold down the alt key while typing 010 on the number pad for the replace character in Find and Replace


    Or, you can use the substitute function in a helper column

    =SUBSTITUTE(a1,"µ",CHAR(10))

    and then copy and paste special - values back over the original

    make sure to format as wrapped!

    thanks alot for your help.

    What is wrap format? how can i do that?

    I tried replace through code, and formula. Nothing helped. I am sending the file where i pasted the formual and the code. But non is working. I will be very thankful for your quidance

    You need to format the cell to "wrap text" on the alignment tab in the format dialog.

    Use find / replace and set the Find to µ and set the replace to <alt 010> on the number pad

    it worked on the sample file you sent, so it should work on your original file.
