Hi,
Just needing to know if you can limit the value entered in a cell to be no more than double the value in another cell. ie.. if B1 = 4 then the data in cell B2 can not be more than 8.
Any assistance is appreciated
Regards
David

Yes. This is a perfect job for Data Validation.
Select B2
Go to the menu and select Data > Data Validation > Data Validation
For Allow select Custom
In the formula bar put
Formula:Please Login or Register to view this content.
This is a formula that must always be true, or the data will not be allowed.
click OK to exit
Hi 6StringJazzer,
Thanks for the quick reply, I neglected to mention that there is another criterior as well, ie. depending if a person is a Male or Female .ie column D will show either M or F next to their names and depending on M or F will determin which row to be used in the validation ie. if Jo is M then B1, if Sue is F then B2 etc.
your request is confusing, please upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
