Question x,y coords converted to Lat & Long then return lat & Long

    Hi All,

I do hope that the experts can solve this for me.

I will try to explain this as best as possible to get the best solution.

I have a table of information like the following.... about 10000 rows...
    Col A Col B Col C Col D Col E Col F
Number Level Model City Country Username
120,540 9 Ford Cork Ireland Cemmac
121,539 10 Ford Belfast Ireland Michael
54,456 8 Ford London UK John

What I have to do is the following using Col A (Unique No Duplicates) convert to lat and long degrees (map reference) starting from a fixed position...eg lat 26.000 and 0.000 long (which if possible is a starting point that can be changed by me to another map reference, say i input 26.000 lat and 0.000 into 2 cells and if i wish to change it to 28.4567 lat 24.8430 long then the refererence will start from that cell).

To make it a little more harder I would like to be able to have a cell (manual input) that I can say 5 or 6 or 10 or 20 miles to be the ratio used for the lat and long result.

Then return the lat and long for each position in Col A with the other rows of information into a new work sheet.

It would need to be true Lat and Long Coords to be used with google maps.

I do hope that this is possible as i am way behind with excel..........and if you need an answer then this is the place for the experts to help.

If you need any further info then please let me know.

Thanks and happy new year to all

None of your columns are labeled. Can you explain what the data is, and what you're trying to do?

Re: x,y coords converted to Lat & Long then return lat & Long

    Hi again,

Ok i have added a few comments to the workbook.

In cell A25 going across i have the input that i copy and paste into the sheet.
The most important is the X Y coords, username and

I would like to be able to use the X Y coords and map onto google maps as a marker.
I would like the sheet to automatically take the X Y coords and convert them to a Lat and Long that will map into google maps.

The distance between each is inserted in cell A5. The will be the distance between each coord when converted to Lat and Long.

So in a nut shell I would like to convert the x y coords into Lat and Long to be used on google maps.

    Hope this help

    Johnny
