    Promote demote?

I know want I want but I don’t know what it is called. I’m guessing promote and demote. That sort of explains what I’m after but there is probably a better way
Anyway, on my spreadsheet I’ll have a data validation cell. The values are “With” and “Without”

If I select “With” then the entire spreadsheet is available for printing. If I select “Without” then it will hide columns 41 to 164 and they won’t be available for printing

    Therefore

If a1 = “WITH” DO NOTHING and if column 41 – 164 are hidden, unhide them
IF a1 = “WITHOUT” hide from display and printer columns 41 - 164

Read the first sentence in my post again. This is a sheet-level macro. It runs itself based on you changing cell A1, just like you outlined.

    Re: Promote demote?

What happened to the "Promote and Demote" function in Excel? I was able to add these two functions only to the quick access menu bar, but it doesn't work. (It is greyed out) I highlighted colums and rows, but the promote and demote buttons stayed grayed out. I used to be able to add this capablility to the menu bar in older versions of Excel and it worked fine. I would appreciate any help.
