I have a two page workbook. I want to use the countif function to read colD on page 2 for the term "hw" and place the resulting number in cell F3 on page one. I tried ='page2'!countif(d5:d37,"hw") Where did I go wrong? Any help greatly appreciated! TIA

It should be something like
=COUNTIF(Page2!D5:D37,"hw")
