I only have Excel 2003 at work. Can you save it as an earlier version.

Re: Extract/copy data from a table

So do you literally want the first and last date/time for each person?

Take Randy for example the earliest date/time is 08/01/2009 08:49:00 and the latest 08/05/2009 18:00:00. Are these the values that you want to extract?

Re: Extract/copy data from a table

Need to extract the info of complete row (When, Who, What, Where), first entry and last exit:

Take Randy for example the earliest date/time is 08/01/2009 08:49:00 and the latest 08/05/2009 18:00:00. Are these the values that you want to extract?

Randy's first entry and last exit on each day. Hope it makes sense.

    Thanks a lot

Re: Extract/copy data from a table

The attached shows how this can be achieved.

I basically started off by extracting just the date into another column. I then copied the Who and Date columns to the Summary sheet and used Advanced Filter to create a unique list of these entries.

I then used formula to extract the information that you have asked for. All the formula that I have used are array formula and need to be confirmed initially with Ctrl+Shift+Enter, don't enter the {} yourself.

    Hope it helps,

    Dom

Re: Extract/copy data from a table

    Domski Happy New Year,

Thanks for solution, it is almost as i wanted, the only thing need to consider is as per your solution it is showing entry records in both section EARLIEST and LATEST. I need only 1 entry reocord and 1 exit record. I think if make 2 sheets (Histact_enrty & Histact_exit) and filter data it can be achieved i guess. I am trying with my limited knowledge to fix this but would very much appreciate if you can help with it.

Thanks for this great help and appreciate very much.

What if someone doesn't have an entry/exit record on a particular day?
