Fill Row Header based on cell in column

    Hi there,

Would like a little help with the following if possible. Hope I can explain it properly.

I get reports from our system in a column format that lists sales for each of our sales people. So as you run down the column you have the sales rep name (say cell B1) under that a list of sales figures on individual lines relating to specific products, the number of lines of which may vary. Down the list further, say cell B12, the next reps name is in the list then a list of sales figures listed under them and so on it continues with multiple reps and a varying amount of sales figures under that. What I wanted to do was fill the A column, next to each of the sales figures, with the relevant reps name, working down the list. I guess some sort of lookup that fills down each cell in the A column with the sales reps name (pulled from cell B1) untill it finds a new sales rep name then fill with that name as it works down the list.

The format of each of the sales reps name is "Sales Rep: XXXXXXX" and this is constant, so this could be used as part of the lookup I guess.

    Hope I have explained properly

    Thanks for any assistance offered

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
