Problem with fractions rounding, and center justification.

I am making a sheet with a column that is going to be filled with different fractions that are input by the user. For example, 1 23/32, 2 1/4, 4 1/8, etc.

For whatever reason, when I type in 1 23/32, Excel decides to round it up to 2. I do not want it rounded, I want it to be exactly as I type it.

My 2nd problem is that sometimes, the numbers I type in aren't centered. I click on the cell, and select center justification, but it still seems offset from the center a bit. I type in something like 2 and it will not be centered.

Anyone who can help, I would appreciate it.

    Hi,

Have you set the format to Fraction rather than number?

I have tried that but whatever fraction I set it too, it rounds to that nearest fraction. So if I type in 1 7/32, then it automatically changes it to 1 1/4.

    Hi,

I don't encounter the problem you describe. Are you sure you have not set the format to 'As quarters 2/4' rather than 'Up to two digits'.

If you have formatted the cell as up to two digits then can you upload the workbook, or at least that section of it which contains this fraction.

That seems to work when I put it on "Up to 2 digits."
