Is this possible?!?!?!

Hi guys,

So I'll give you a brief description of what i want to do. Basically I want to have an excel spreadsheet on my computer where i can enter in a bunch of ticket numbers. Each ticket number has an associated complete or in progress cell next to it. What i want to do is to set up a TV screen which is connected to my computer where if the ticket number is in progress will show up on the screen and as soon as it is switched to completed it no longer appears on the screen.

In addition I was wondering if there was a program of some sort that would let me do this that works in cooperation with excel to achieve this.

If excel isn't capable of achieving this do you have any recommendations on how I could?

I know this is possible (with or without the use of excel) because they use the same idea in many offices that have appointments. In the room they have a tv setup with the patient's name on it. As soon as the doctor is ready the name pops up on the screen and then when the patient goes to check in the name disappears. That's what I basically want to do.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I would rather stay away from php and mysql but if this is the route I have to take please let me know.
