Slanted text cut off by next cell..???

I've got a document with column headings and the text is slanted with a diagonal line as well. My problem is that the text is cut off when it gets too far to the right and reaches the next column. I would like all the text to appear no matter which column it ends up in. The cells are merged vertically, wrap text is on,... The only thing I've been able to find when I search this problem are people saying to alt Enter but that's not my problem and it doesn't work. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks.

Hi bluebowtie, welcome to the forum.

select the cells, click Format - Format Cells - Alignment tab and set the Orientation to 90 degrees.

Thanks for the welcome teylyn. However, that defeats my purpose. I would like the angle of the text to be around 75 degrees and therein lies my problem. It's simply much easier to read the headings with the text at least slighty slanted.

It will work fine if you unmerge the cells, the scourge of Excel.

hmm.. I will have to try unmerged.. although then I imagine the diagonal line doesn't work, which sucks but might be easier to overcome. Thanks for the quick replies!

I stand corrected by shg (not for the first time, and not for the last ).

But if you simply format your unmerged cells to have borders for each cell, it will be fine.

    see attached.
