Inserting a chart changes axis labels

I have a list of months in one column and a list of numbers in another. When I try to insert a line chart, the numbers on the chart show up weird.

For example, the actual number is 4,945,844,503, but on the chart it looks like this:
    5E+09

How can I change it to show the actual number? I have tried hand entering the numbers in a new spreadsheet, but they still come out wrong.

Hello, If I understand correctly, I think the following should help:
    1) Left-click directly on the axis line that has the wierd (scientific notation) numbers. In other words, if they are along the 'Y' (vertical) axis, then left-click directly on this line. You will have this correct if you see "anchor" points on both ends of this axis line and no "anchor" points anywhere else.
    2) Then, with your mouse still over the axis line, RIGHT-CLICK. You should see a little prompt appear with selection options of "Format Axis", and "Clear".
    3) Select Format Axis. Pick the NUMBER tab. Under the CATEGORY selections, you probably currently have "Scientific" selected. Change this to "Number". Set the Decimal places selection to ZERO, and put a CHECK at the 1000 Separator checkbox. ... OK the box to save your changes.
    4) Now, your chart numbers should look better. Do the same thing to the other axis if necessary.
    Hope this helps! ... sauerj
