    Customer Names into Customer List

I am needing a few things here. I am working on a business spreadsheet for a friend. I have built a "Sales" sheet where there is a name/customer column. I want to bring these names when entered automatically into separate customer list sheet. I have completed this using FIND, LEFT and MID functions. Problem here is: 1) I want to eliminate duplicate names from being entered (Data Validation does not work here) 2) Need to have the formula skip over the ensuing blanks from duplicates and when the customer is a store instead of an individual (Store is a separate column heading) 3) Have the imported customer list be able to use other useful features such as Sort & Filter, etc. (Right now it is locked into the Find, Left and Mid formula.

It seems like this would be a common problem but I am having a hard time finding solutions on the web. Any suggestions?

An example workbook showing exactly how you envision it being set up and what results you are looking for would be immensely helpful.

Not sure I am fully understanding your requirements, but it seems that you could use Advanced Filter to filter for unique values, using the option to copy to a new location to create the lists.
