Excel freezes on File save/close

When saving or even just trying to exit large files (25 M or more), Excel sometimes freezes up for up to 15 minutes. I'm on a network drive, but IT says it's not a traffic issue. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Does it take as long when saving locally? If not and the only difference is the save path then I'd humbly suggest it is a traffic/network issue.

If it were just on saving, I'd agree, but it also freezes up when just trying to close without saving.

Hi,

Nevertheless if it was opened over the network I think even a straightforward Close has to communicate back to the original file across the network in order to release the permission. So I think my Q, and suggestion is still valid.
