    Dynamic graph

    Hello everyone,

Is there a way to make dynamic xy scatter graph?
I just figure out how to make a drop down list. So if i could apply this into making a dynamic chart, it will be very useful.
Say, I have 3 column of data A1:C100, (or using the name manager to group it A1:A100, B1:B100, C1:C100).
Then I wish to show only 1 column of value on the graph, and by changing the values in drop down box, it will show another graph which the data are from the another column.
Anyone can help me to do this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Dynamic graph

    Hi Beginner Level,

Your request is a tough one to describe in one reply.

Here is what i would recommend / do for a solution:

First make it so that your drop down list modifies the values in an Offset formula to pick the right range to graph/chart in Excel. Based on your request, your drop down list would change the column value of the offet function. Here is a tutorial on the offset function if you are not familiar with it:
Using the Offset Function tutorial: http://www.exceldashboardtemplates.com/?p=536

Then, make your chart dynamic using the offset formula. It can be a bit tricky to make this work, but once you have the hang of it, it makes sense.
Here is a tutorial to do that as well:
How-to Make a Dynamic Chart Using Offset Formula: http://www.exceldashboardtemplates.com/?p=688

Alternately, you can also make a pivot table and pivot chart of your data. Then there is a built in drop down list in the pivot chart.

Please let me know if this helps.
