Excel 2007 : formulas not auto-computing

Hello all,

I'm getting so frustrated with Excel. For the past couple of years, every now and then my Excel spreadsheet formula would stop auto-computing until I click on the cell (with the formula) and then click the check mark to confirm the formula. If I change any value in any of the related cells, I would have to go back and click on the cell with the formula and then click on the check mark again so that it will compute the new value.
I've solved the problem in the past by reinstalling Excel, but it's not working tonight. Am I doing something wrong? Have I accidentally chosen an option w/o knowing? Please help.
