Date Count Forumla

Is there a formula that would pull and count all the dates for a given month.
Example:
Column B has dates that I need to have total
Column J is where the count for all the entries for each month is given
Column B Column I Column J
1/10/10 Jan 2
1/23/10 Feb 4
2/3/10 Mar 1
2/10/10 Apr
2/12/10 May
2/14/10 Jun
3/1/10

I'm a little confused by your wording, but if you want to count dates by month in column-B then, adjusting the number for each month

=SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(B1:B100)=1))

Or, if you are starting on row1 and fill the formula down 12 rows for each month

=SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(B1:B100)=row()))
