    Calculate Maximum Items Checked out

I am trying to calculate the maximum number of kits that were checked out at any point in time. My spreadsheet shows the person who check out a kit, the day it was checked out, and the day it was checked in (See attached example). I just can't seem to come up with anything to determine the most kits that were checked out on any given day.

Two options: Pivot Table or DCOUNT (could also use a SUMPRODUCT)

Hmmm. That is not quite right. Keep in mind that an item is checked out every day from the date out to the day back in.

Perhaps you should re-state your requirements more clearly and provide an example of expected results in your sample workbook. The only criteria you stated was how many are "checked out" during a time period; both of the suggested solutions accomplish this.

Are you stating you want to count an item as checked out and continue counting the same item until it checked in? Clarify your requirements so we can better understand.
