Show Billing Cycle for a month

    hi everybody,

Glad to see after a long time.

I had a worksheet containing raw data with Transaction date & Amount column. My requirement is how would i show the billing cycle dynamically created based on the transaction date.

For example: if the transaction date is say,05/19/2007 (mm/dd/yyyy)
i need to show the billing cycle for the same transaction 21/05/07 - 20/06/07

I need to show a column containing the billing Cycle for every transaction basing on the month entered in Column B2.

Each Billing Cycle consists of 30 days starting from 21st of the current month to the 20th of the next month. And the due date is 15 days from the billing cycle.

    I had attached the worksheet.

    TIA

Try this, I may not be able to help further tonight, but it does what I think you were asking for.

If you can't figure out how a formula works, try stepping through it using "Evaluate Formula" in the Formula Auditing menu item in the tools menu!

If you want to see where your code went wrong, try stepping through it by clicking in the code and pressing F8 and watch as the magic happens!

Could you not download the file? What do you mean you do not "get" me? Please be specific or how can I help you? The month'year format is not standard for excel and cannot therefore be assessed by standard formulas in excel, to get the "billing cycle" from what you give, you have to use formulas that spit out text. It would work better if the data in column B was a standard date entered dd/mm/yy which can be formatted anyway you like i.e. mmmm/yyyy then put the start of the billing cycle in column C and the end of the billing cycle in column D. It may be that I didn't include the due date thing in my response, but I wasn't even sure if I was doing what you wanted.

Re: Show Billing Cycle for a month

Sorry, ignore that last post, I didn't realize that you did have the dates in column B directly. This workbook is now calculating your billing cycles (I still think that it would be better to break the billing cycles into two separate columns). I also added the 15 days to the end of the billing cycle for your due date. I am a bit surprised to see a "valued forum contributor" asking this, which makes me think that I might not have understood your initial question at all (which should make you want to clarify what you are wanting).

Re: Show Billing Cycle for a month

First of all,Thanks for replying Everstrivin.

I Initially thought of the Same thing as u had said, regarding, Breaking the billing cycle in two seperate columns and then calculate the due dates. But as a Curious Learner i did not find it wrong to ask other people as some body might get new or other innovative idea which would be far good and easy.

I dont feel Shy asking for help as everyday is a learning process.we learn new things in life daily.I keep experimenting with excel daily with new ideas and Formulas.

What if i m a "Valued Forum Contributor".It does not mean much.
If i know everything i would not be here.We might not get the smallest idea also at times. In my Case,I could not get the idea which u implemented in Showing the billing cycle.I m very grateful to you for taking time. Thanks a lot.!!!!
