Exclamation hyperlinking to the centre of the screen

Hi, I am working in Excel 2007 and have created hyperlinks in a database to make navigation easier for the spreadsheet user.

What I am finding is that the tables I have hyperlinked to are not showing up in the centre of the screen when I click on the link. Sometime they come up in the top left hand corner, sometime along the bottom etc. I am wondering if there is a way to get the linked table opening in the centre of the screen?

There are a number of linked tables on the worksheet and attempts at manoeuvring them around have proven fruitless. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a presentation coming up soon and this is quite critical to it running smoothly!

    Cheers, Alex

    JR, who is "Kevin" ?

I notice you often reference persons by their first name only... it would be a good idea to give their full name and a link...
best to assume that unlike yourself the rest of us are not all on first name terms with those whose work you reference (Debra, Laurent, Kevin etc...)

Thanks though I confess I was thinking more along the lines of links specific to whatever it is you're posting.

Perhaps given you're on friendly terms you could try to entice them to post on the board every now and then ?

Jean, I take it that Debra, Laurent, and Kevin will know who "Jean" is? If not, it might be a good idea to drop the pretense of being tight buddies with them.

I have never pretended anything similar to what you are suggesting ...
Each time, there is an issue related to closed files where the morefunc add-in might help, I think of Laurent Longre ... whenever the issue is related to pivot tables, I think of Debra Dalgleish, etc ... experts recognised in their fields ...

And I am just acting as a simple relay to help people out ... since full credit for the codes or the solutions goes to their respective authors ... !!!

Exactly. And by simply stating that "Debra" would use this and "Kevin" has that, you are exactly not giving credit to the authors, because you don't name them in a recognisable way. The newbie Excel user will not know who they are and won't even have a chance to do more research with the info you provide, since you don't list full names nor URLs.

To the regular members here you simply sound pompous, trying to pretend you're on a first name basis with those MVPs, which you are clearly not.

Edit: below composed prior to the above post.

I think Teylyn's point was simply that whether intended or not use of forename only references implies a certain familiarity.

My initial point was more to do with referencing specific links ie don't presume those for whose benefit you're posting will be as familiar with the named reference as you are (I didn't know to whom "Kevin" referred).

I do confess however that like Teylyn I prefer people keep all references on the board as formal as possible irrespective of personal association.

    NEVER ..!!!

I do not know who "sound pompous" now ...
Your ability to understand seems rather limited : I said and repeat that these MVPs are being used as references over, over again in this forum (and in others) ... so often, you end up quoting their first names...I forgot to mention Chip for VBA coding, Jon for the charts and many others ...

    So long ...

Jean, you are the only one in this forum who refers to these people by first names only. What you are implying with that is yet to be discovered. Helpful to a member seeking help on a particular subject it is not.

Try googling for John without the Walkenbach. Where would that get you?

If you want to help askers on this forum, give them useful information. Don't assume that they know who Dave is. Or Mike. Or Patrick. Or ...

I think this post is getting well off target & slightly personal. let's stick to DO's point - it best to refer to excel authors by full name, a link to specific code or articles is also useful
    Hope that helps.
