    dropdown menu for tables

    hi,

i have 3 different tables TableA,TableB and TableC.
What should i do to make an dropdown menu that would have these 3 options Tables ABC. And when i select example Table B from the dropdown menu, that table would appear under teh dropdown menu.

I now how to do a simple dropdown menu, but not like this with hole tables that has to appear.

hopefully i made my problem clear.

    Re: dropdown menu for tables

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

    Re: dropdown menu for tables

create a range name for each table.

in the data validation list, use the range names you created.

Then use the Index formula to populate the table as in the attached spreadsheet

    =INDEX(INDIRECT($B$4),ROW(A1),COLUMN(A1))

The tables named with range names can be on any sheet in the workbook. In this instance, the assumption is that all tables have the same number of rows and columns.

    see attached.
