vlookup?

    vlookup?

    hi
    what is the best way to do this , if at all possible?


    i have two excel

    number 1

    number 2

    i want to pull the stock and price from excel book 2 into excel book 1


    i need excel book one to look inside number 2 for the unique OEM code then pull the price and stock of that entry into excel number one...

    then put the stock and price in the columm in the correct places..


    hope thats not too confusing


    any help would be great

    Your title covers the answer, by the way it's no help posting images, this is an excel forum so post workbooks

    Use the Function Wizard beside the Formula bar to write your actual formula,selecting the ranges in the wizard will make sure that the correct range & workbook is selected

    Post a sample book as royUK suggested. We can't work on a picture.

    Post a book with the before and desired results.

    Place this formula in Number1 workbook in the Cell under Price and drag further
    VLOOKUP(A2,'[Number2.xlsx]Sheet2'!$A$2:$D$5,3,FALSE)

    A2 (being the value in Number1 workbook) which needs to be searched in Number 2
    Number2.xlsxSheet2!$A$2:$D$5 - here you specify the range where it needs to search for
    3 represents the column from which the data need to be pulled from Number2

    Always attach spreadsheets for better and quicker answers!!!
