Excel 2007: Shared WorkBook NOT Editable

    Hi

There is an unique problem in Excel 2007, with respect to updation of Shared Workbook that is in a Windows File Server folder

When a Shared WorkBook (that is in Windows File Server folder), is edited in Excel 2007 and a Save is done, an Error Dialog is thrown:
"Your changes could not be saved to "abc.xlsx" because of a sharing violation. Try saving to a different file"
The edited changes are not possible to be Saved.

However, the shared workbook can be edited/saved using Excel 2003

Please suggest a solution to overcome this issue

    Thanks in Advance!

    Mouli

Perhaps someone is using 2007 and someone is using 2003, and it's causing problems? What happens if you try and save it as a .xls instead of .xlsx?

The same problem is with ".xls" as well

An "abc.xls" file in a fileserver will be editable using from all workstations with Excel 2003. It will be not be editable using Excel 2007 however

    Thank you
