    Excel Rounding

    Hi all,

    =ROUNDUP((G8/4),0)

    If G8 = 8

I would expect this to keep it at 2 but it returns 3.

We get paid in 4 hour chunks, so if we work 6 hours, we get paid for 8. If we do 8, we get paid for 8, if we do 9 we get paid for 12.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks

It returns 2 in all of my Excel version. Are you sure that the value in G8 is truly 8?

Post a sample file that displays the behaviour you describe.

    cheers

Indeed it sounds as if the value is greater than 8.

    Try

    =G8=8

in another cell and see what you get.

If it is the result of a formula, it will be due to the Floating Point processor, as it only works to a precision of 15 places, you will get these anomalies.
