    Counting consecutive cells

I'm new to the forum and not very experienced with excel. I have a spreadsheet that tracks days away/days home for employees. I need to keep track of the total number of each. I also need to find a way to have the total number of days home turn red if there is a period home that is longer than 25 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I am having trouble uploading the file. It's a cell for each day of the year in a row for each person. blue cells are away days and green cells are home days. I will keep trying to upload it, but if you can steer me in any direction that would be extremely helpful!

KMU, how big is your file? Try zipping it before uploading.

    KMU,

color is not data. If you want to count how many days per person, then you need to put data against that person.

Why not put a "a" for "away" into the cell and a "h" for Home. Use conditional formatting to color cells with an "a" blue and cells with a "h" green. If you apply the same color to the text, then the cells will look the same as they do now.

Then use a Countif() function to count the cells with "a" and the cells with "h" for each person.

To highlight more than 25 home days, again, you can use conditional formatting.
