Batch protect files

Need help, fast! I'm on a deadline and need to add passwords to 75 separate workbooks. Is there any (preferably free) tool out there that will batch protect sheets?

All are workbooks are identical in layout.

What passwords? Sheet passwords or workbook?

Ideally both, but definitely the worksheets, with the exception of 1 column (which is formatted as unprotected)

The only way would probably be to create code to loop through each workbook & add the protection,but it would not be fast
