    Auto-populating spreadsheet from back-end database

I'm looking for some assistance with a project I'm working on now.

Say you have a spreadsheet that is saved on your machine or on a shared location somewhere and you would like to autopopulate it (evertime you open it) with another spreadsheet/back-end database which is saved at a central location. Is it possible?

Also the individual spreadsheets that are to be autopopulated are all over the world/different networks and organizations, and they each draw information from the one "master" spreadsheet/back-end database.

If it's possible, how is it done?

Have you tried the data import options?

You could record a macro to get the location of the master database.

What data do you want to get?
    Hope that helps.

The data that is in the master database will be used to populate drop down menus within the individual spreadsheets. The master database will constantly be updated with new information.

    does that answer your question?

I'll do some research on your suggestion of recording a macro, thanks
