Help with vlookup formulas

I need help using a vlookup formula, or at least i think that is the type of formula i need.

I need to search one column and find every occurence of an exact amount and then sum the total of all of the figures on the same rows that appear in the next column. For instance i want to look up Column S and find the total of all the costs in column T where the type equals number 1 in column S? Attached is a spreadsheet of data

Hi, maybe you can try with

=SUMPRODUCT(--(S3:S19=1),T3:T19)

Try simple SUMIF
=sumif(s3:s19,1,t3:t19)

I would organize all data into "header" & Column and eliminate empty columns. Then I would do a quick pivot table with a Report Filter at the top showing "1" and summing "Type 1's" only.

Take a few hours and practice with pivot tables. You'll like what you can do with them.
