    Calculating financial weeks

    Hi

I have a spreadsheet that contains dates (i.e 21/05/10) and I have a column next to it which i would like the financial week to appear. Is there a formula I can put in here to automatically calculate what the financial week is?

    Many Thanks

    Hi Alice,

is "financial week" equal to calendar week? If so, you can use Weeknum(). Look it up in the Excel help, because there are a few options to choose from, re which week is the first week of the year in different regions and countries.

    cheers

    Hi

Thank you for your quick response.

The financial weeks start on 1st April 2010, so that would be week 1.

    Hi

I have just found the below formula that works!

    =TRUNC(((AE9-C5)+6)/7)+(WEEKDAY(AE9)=WEEKDAY(C5))

    Thank you for your help

Alice, would you care to shed light on what's in cells AE9 and C5? Without that, nobody can make sense of your solution. Other than DaddyLongLegs, that is.
