    Miloud,

what you describe is that for every value in A you want to see a 1 in the next column.

    If < 0.5 then 1, if >0.5 and <1 then 1, if > 1 then 1

Can you upload a sample workbook and mock up the expected results?

    Re: dummies

    Hey,
I think it'll be better if u post a sample worksheet,
from wot i understand results for all 3 conditions are 1 and 0
Maybe i'm reading it all wrong.

Put a value in A and tell us wot value u want in B and C

    Regards
    Mohit

    Re: dummies

    Miloud,

i need to generate dummies in column B and C
if A less than 0.5 then 1 and zero otherwise
if A 0.5 to 1 then 1 and zero otherwise
If A1 is less than 0.5 then the formula returns 1. Right?
If A1 is between 0.5 and 1 then the formula returns 1. Right?
    And, from your initial post:
If A1 is greater than 1 then the formula returns 1. Right?

Why the need for a check, then? Just hard-code a 1 into the cell where you want to see the result, because all conditions return a 1.

Last chance to attach a workbook with sample data, expected results and a logical explanation.

    cheers
