Exclamation Double Clicking Fill Handle yields no result

I have a user whose Excel is unable to fill if he double-clicks the fill handle. It will not fill on his system, but it will fill on mine. He can drag the fill handle and it works, but when he is working with a 40k row document, that can take a bit. His Excel is properly set up to allow the fill handle to function, this was the first thing I examined. The difference between our instances of Excel is an add-in which he MUST have as part of his daily job duties.

All that being said, if this add-in is conflicting with the fill-handle's capabilities, how would we go about restoring the double-click capability?

    Good evening STarloff

It would be nice to know what add-in is installed.
Some (EssBase and Hyperion) for example interfere with doubleclick and left click functions for their own deep dark purposes.

Check the options of the add-in to see if it allows you to cancel the add-in over-ride (EssBase allows this). Failing that, just disable the add-in from the manage add-in dialog, and enable it as and when the user needs it.

It's Essbase. As a workaround, I have my user disabling the add-in when he is working with files that have a large number of rows. I'm afraid I don't know how to check the Essbase options. Would this be done from within Excel, or is there a separate method of access?

    Hi STarloff

I don't have EssBase on this machine, nor do I know if mine is the same version of yours, but working from memory, on mine you go to EssBase > Options, Global and there are two options in there for left click and "additional button". I keep them both unticked, unless I'm working with EssBase. It's a complete pain in the backside.

    DominicB,

Thank you for your assistance with this issue. My user has identified the option within EssBase and his fill handle is working as intended now.

    Thanks again!
